As far back as he can remember, he alway's wanted to be around thing's mechanical. Anything that had movement, had to be taken apart to see how it work's.
He is the third generation of a family of mechanics. His grandfather owned a repair shop in India, his dad owned a shop in Dacca (now Bangladesh), and he along with his younger brother started a shop of their own in Karachi,
Pakistan.
In 1979, on a trip to the United States for vacation, Hashim and his wife, along with their young son, bought a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix in Ohio and decided to road trip around the whole country. After many months & 6 oil changes
covering 18,000 miles, they finally arrived in Houston where they decided to plant the seeds of their future.
In Houston, Hashim soon started a branch of his family business, Dienfa Motors, and bought into the Maaco franchise in 1985. Eventually in 1998 he broke away from Maaco and turned his business into Auto Cosmetic so that he could
accommodate his repeat customer's request & demands for better service & higher quality finish at a reasonable price, which was just not possible in a Maaco franchise. He claims that Maaco has a good product, for
those who realistically accept the value of service's received for the $ amount spent. Which unfortunately was not the case 95% of the time!! You can't get a prime steak for the price of a hamburger.
It's the love for cars that get's him up at the crack of dawn every morning, so that he can get back to what he call's his toy's. In his own words & I quote: " I have never had to work for a living "
He loves what he does & has never consider it to be a job. He look's forward to being at the shop all day & relishes the look on his customers face, when they come to pick up their repaired vehicles.
In his free time, he is always looking for unusual cars that he can buy, restore & drive. The passion he has for cars, their beauty and history, shows in the painstaking work he puts into each and everyone of these vehicle. Be it a
customer's car or one of his own. If you are a car guy / gal or just a regular car owner looking for some one to care for your ride, or just to talk car's, you really would love to know my dad.
The above fact's written by " FYZA " his car crazy daughter.
